creating the
Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly football boots, including the ingenious Nike Flywire technology.
The Nike Flywire technology has strategically placed filaments across the upper of the boot to act
like cables on a suspension bridge, designed to offer support precisely
where the foot needs it. When the central lacing system is done up the
cables form a supportive wrap around the foot, meaning you don't need
additional material and support, which helps to make the superfly
super-light.
Another unique feature of the Superfly football boots is the clean boot
surface, which has just one seam tucked away at the heel of the boot, so the upper is not interrupted with excessive or unnecessary
stitching. And the upper material is made from Nike's unique Teijin synthetic - a thin, lightweight and durable material that offers great touch and feel for the ball, and has existed in the Vapor series since the Vapor III football boots.
The innovation continues with the Nike Superfly's responsive carbon fibre sole-plate. Featuring injected TPU studs configured
for speed, and hollowed out so they are more lightweight and stronger
due to the rounded structure.
