The Football League Show

The Championship teams get a break due to the international weekend, so the focus is very much on League One and Two. MK Dons have appointed Karl Robinson as full-time coach after Paul Ince left the club at the end of last season, and they face Hartlepool in one of the games of the day in League One. Elsewhere, Southampton host Rochdale at St Mary's, while further along the south coast, Peter Reid's Plymouth entertain Brighton. Presented by Manish Bhasin.

Richard Bacon is assisted by David Seaman as he takes a hilarious look back at the 50 greatest shocks from South Africa 2010 - from Rob Green's blunder against the USA to the French team going on strike; from Uruguay cheating Ghana out of a place in the semi-final to Frank Lampard's infamous 'goal that never was'. There are also the brilliant moments that may have slipped under the radar - Fabio Capello daring to bully Stuart Pearce, Emmanuel Eboue speaking Korean and the madness of Maradona.

Football Boots > Football Boots - Nike CTR360 Maestri - White/Del Sol/Black - 01/09/09

Here's the second colourway of the brand new Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots, a sharper more clinical looking
White/Del Sol/Black...

The Nike CTR360's are a revolutionary football boot designed to take ball control to the next level! And it's a bold move from Nike to break away from their three successful ranges; the Legend, Laser and Vapor. But clearly they feel that ball touch and control is an area that modern football boots fail to deliver to their full potential.

The first interesting point about the Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots is that the upper is made from a synthetic material. The Kanga Light material gives a similar feel to natural leather, and like a leather will form to the foot whilst retaining its strength. Nike have also stated the material absorbs 20% less water than a natural leather, so the boot will remain lightweight in wet conditions.

The next striking feature of the Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots is the stand-out dampening pods. The basic theory behind the pods is that their cushioning properties will improve ball control, whilst passing will be more direct and accurate due to the pods forming around the ball when struck.

The pods are made from a shape-correcting memory foam, and although obviously you'd need a super slow-motion camera to catch this in action, it is an innovative piece of technology that Nike have tested alongside some of the best players in the world including Cesc Fabregas, and these boots certainly do fill you with confidence when passing.

The boots feel comfortable on thanks to the padded boot collar and cushioned sockliner, which has Poron (performance urethane) inserts strategically placed to help reduce stud pressure. The Nike CTR360 Maestri begins with a central lacing system, which veers off-centre to allow for the lateral forefoot dampening pods, and tucks the laces away to increase the ball control surface.

The Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots are available in both a firm ground and soft ground sole-plate. Unfortunately, the soft ground sole-plate is overlooked for technical advancement to concentrate on raw performance, but the firm ground sole-plate is pioneering. Featuring dual-density studs at the fore of the boot for excellent ball grip and trap control, and then at the heel the studs are sharper and stronger to lock down the planted foot whilst the other controls or passes the ball.

One of the big pulling points for getting the Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots, is that they are part of Nike's strive to improve footballers around the world. Nike footballs' aim is for players of all levels to get the ultimate training experience, allowing them to become a better footballer. Which is why when you receive your new CTR360 football boots, you will receive a unique Nike code specific to your boots, unlocking exclusive programs from the world's best players and coaches, incorporating modern iPhone and PC technology!

We think the Nike CTR360 Maestri's are a great football boot, as they promise performance and deliver thanks to not over-complicating their technology. Nike understand that ball control and quick accurate passing are key elements to winning a game and have built a boot around those basic principles. This second colourway is available for pre-order now ahead of a 3rd October release, and they are a classy addition to what seems to be a unique new boot range.

I totally agree I like these and obviously Nike have spent time and money developing them. To be honest I can see these replacing the lasers over time. I think the lasers have gone as far as they can really. Laser II's are worse than Laser I's.

Also there are a lot of Vapor fan boys (mostly young chavs who think they are CR9) who dont apreciate these boots and that real football is about passing and control (total football a la Barcelona) which these boots embrace.

If anyone here is a Vapor fan boy and has a pair or even the superfly if you can honestly say you didnt buy them because you wanted to be like Cristiano Ronaldo then I would be very surprised!

Well Perry you make a good point but i have been wearing vapors since they first came out and have never looked back i wear the superflys cause the touch and feel is magnetic.  Personally i prefer the tight synthetic feel over leather.  i Wear the superflys because they are quality not cause i'm a fanboy.  Second i fail to see what these boots offer.  I feel they are just the tiempos with some fancy gimmicks but they do look like great boots.  Only reason i wouldn't wear them though are the three studs that form a circle that is an ACL tear waiting to happen.  Good looking boot though love the colors.

I personally think these are pretty ugly.  And i don't see the need for them.  It may be just because they're new, but they just don't seem to fit in with their other boot lines.  Thumbs down for me.

I think people on here who think Vapors make them faster should read an article which concludes that speed boots "all come down to perception and psychology. If you feel than you can run faster in one pair of football boots rather than another, then great. That’s maybe the edge you are looking for. And who knows, for players at our level, that could be enough."

Thats why you guys buy them.

I think this shoe is a mix between the lasers and the tiempos.  I like this colorway and i like the dampening pads for touch and shot. I dont like how the lacing goes to the inside, i know some people are able to drive the ball with the outside of their foot but it hurts my foot so i don't do that.

I like this colorway alot
