A regular round-up of all the action and big name interviews, featuring the biggest stars from European football's premier club competition - the UEFA Champions League.
Gabby Logan presents live Championship action from Turf Moor as Burnley take on local Lancastrian rivals Preston North End. The Clarets have returned to the second tier of English football following relegation from the Premier League, but boast one of the strongest squads in division. Preston have endured an indifferent start to their 11th straight season playing at this level but will be keen to put one over their neighbours. This fixture has traditionally produced goals, with fourteen being scored in the last three encounters at Turf Moor.
Gary Lineker presents highlights of the day's seven Barclays Premier League matches. Chelsea headed East across for London for a derby against West Ham, now managed by former boss Avram Grant. The champions were held to a 1-1 draw by the Hammers last season, with Frank Lampard equalising against his former club from the penalty spot. Other matches include Arsenal's home game against Bolton, and a clash between two newly-promoted sides as Newcastle entertained Blackpool.
After time off due to the international week, the npower Championship swings back into action. Coventry and Leicester meet in the M69 derby, while there is another local affair to be resolved in Lancashire when Burnley welcome Preston North End. Just 25 miles separate the two clubs, and Burnley are looking for an instant return to the Premier League; as for PNE, a nervy start to the season would quickly be forgotten if they could put one over their local rivals. Presented by Manish Bhasin.
Richard Bacon is assisted by David Seaman as he takes a hilarious look back at the 50 greatest shocks from South Africa 2010 - from Rob Green's blunder against the USA to the French team going on strike; from Uruguay cheating Ghana out of a place in the semi-final to Frank Lampard's infamous 'goal that never was'. There are also the brilliant moments that may have slipped under the radar - Fabio Capello daring to bully Stuart Pearce, Emmanuel Eboue speaking Korean and the madness of Maradona.
SoccerBible have had a first look at the adidas Predator football boots taking the Confederations Cup by storm. The new Predator Confederations boots have a cool new design, and have already been worn by Brazilian captain Lucio, Spain's creative midfielder Xavi and tireless Italian midfielder Daniele De Rossi. The unique design pays tribute to Confederations Cup and 2010 World Cup hosts South Africa, and the white leather upper really makes the bold colours and design stand out.The white and black colours make these a sharp looking pair of adidas Predator football boots, which continue adidas' high level of craftsmanship incorporating unique technologies. These new Confederations Predators once again feature SmartFoam and rubberised vamps, along with the PowerPulse chamber, which are all innovative features unique to adidas that have proved to be successful with the pro players over the past year. The actual design and colours of these new adidas Predator football boots is certainly striking. But rather than creating an extremely loud coloured boot, adidas used a classy looking white upper with a more subtle nod to the vibrant colours and atmosphere of South Africa. These cool looking adidas Predator football boots are not just confined to the Confederations tournament. They have been a popular choice with the players, as we recently spotted Robin Van Persie sporting a pair on International duty with Holland. So we're expecting to see a lot of these boots during this World Cup season, and are expecting them to hit our shelves from 1st August just in time for the new season.
