Whoever suggested the Europa League wasn't a headline-making competition was proved wrong lastnight, as Steven Gerrard debuted a brand new Predator LZ colour, a sharp looking Black/Yellow/Grey combination.
In recent times Gerrard has broadened his horizons with his boot colour choice, even surprisingly wearing the Blue/White/Infrared launch colourway, a move we'd never of expected 12 months ago from a player notorious for only wearing black football boots.
But it seemed only a matter of time until Steven Gerrard was back wearing a familiar black pair of adidas Predators, although his new football boots are by no means less eye-catching! The new Preds appear to shift from black to grey for the upper, but with the Lethal Zones and 'adidas' branding jumping off the boot in a bright yellow colour.
We'll keep our eyes peeled to see if any other players wear this latest colourway on pitch, but it's more likely Gerrard has made the executive decision to wear the boots before embargo because of the colours. However, as Gerrard has the boots in his possession, it means adidas must be dispatching the new colour to their top tier athletes, so we can expect a full launch soon.
Stay tuned to SoccerBible as once we have the official dates from adidas, we'll have full reveal with exclusive photography of Gerrard's new football boots. In the mean time let us know what you think? Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
