Boot Spy > Sergio Aguero Tests Radical Prototype

Sergio Aguero has been spotted testing possible the most radical prototype football boots we've ever seen! SoccerBible has got exclusive images of the star forward, as he tests out his remarkable unbranded footwear during a Manchester City training session...

This is why at SoccerBible we love everything about football boots. When you think the boot world has shocked you for the last time, something unbelievably stunning and unlike anything you've ever seen before comes along! SoccerBible has managed to get some great exclusive shots, so take a look and let us know what you think.

We're used to seeing black-out prototype football boots on pitches, and in more recent years players have been testing white-out boots, but this black and white combination is new to us. Clearly this is a new boot as it doesn't resemble anything else on the market, but to make things more confusing there is no sign of any branding, so is this a launch colourway or a boot shrouded in mystery to avoid anything being leaked?

Common sense tells us this is a new PUMA football boot, Sergio Aguero is after all Puma's leading speed asset. However, we wouldn't like to say for sure because in the last 12 months Aguero has worn Nike, adidas and PUMA football boots. But Aguero makes a great candidate if PUMA, or any other brand, are looking to launch a boot in the ilk of Cristiano Ronaldo. At just 23 years old and with over 20 Premier League goals in his debut season, Aguero is one of the most exciting forwards in football.

Due to the unique patterning it's quite difficult to distinguish features on this new boot. It seems to be a one piece upper, although any stitching and seams could be hidden behind the pattern, and presumably due to the paint-job this is a synthetic upper. The outsole looks to have an external heel counter, with bladed studs towards the heel and more rounded under the fore of the boot, but however you look at this boot it must be designed for innovation and speed.

If this boot is confirmed as PUMA, then it's quite a canny ploy to prevent any leaks on the web, after we scoured the globe and couldn't find any more info on this boot. We've also done our research and found the unique patterning is an innovative form of camouflage, previously used on military ships and known as 'Razzle Dazzle'!

The 'Razzle Dazzle' effect is a visual illusion that works because the patterns break up the shape of the object, in this case a football boot, making it hard to understand the complete shape. The look causes confusion as the black and white shapes all look independent and not interrelated, so it's difficult to distinguish shape, size and speed.

We're yet to see if Aguero will wear his new camouflage boots competitively, but it's more than likely these boots will remain hush hush as he seems to only have worn them for one training session. Also we've yet to see any other players testing this distinctive boot, but one thing's for sure there is an exciting new speed boot on the horizon.

Whether Aguero's test boots are for general release, are a prototype or are limited edition, we're yet to find out. But rest assured we've got our best SoccerBible boot detectives on the case and speaking to the brands, to clear up the story behind Aguero's 'Razzle Dazzle' boots.

Possibly the most stunning and unique football boots we've ever seen, we can't wait to find out more about Aguero's prototype footwear, and would love to hear what you think? Share your thoughts online, on Twitter and on Facebook.

Woow looks like the paintjob cars get when their still in development. It's a way to fool the eyes and 'hide' the lines of the car. Doesn't work so well on shoes imo...

AS other pointed out, you can see the puma on the heel of pic 2.  It also looks like an older style Puma heel cup, from their earlier lightweight boots (2002 ish?)  1.06 speed boot.

THat' is a dazzle camouflage design, reminiscent of WWII ships.  Look it up, you'll see.

Not so much interested in the boots as in the pattern: pretty neat idea to use razzle dazzle on boots now as it really is very difficult to distinguish the features, which, of course, maks for a very useless leak...!

Let's see if other companies will follow suit and change black-outs for razzles dazzles.
