Boot Spy > Ronaldo Back Testing Nike Vapor VIII Football Boots

Ronaldo was back testing his top-secret Nike Vapor VIII football boots this week before Real Madrid's mid-week Champions League fixture. The Real Madrid superstar hasn't missed an opportunity recently to put his new Nike Vapor's through their paces, ensuring his latest speed boots are up to the job!

The latest Nike Vapor 8 may be the most Ronaldo-influenced Mercurial to date. The Vapor VIII football boots could feature an all-new outsole design, with a mixed sole-plate stud configuration – a known feature of Cristiano's boots! As we expect, the Nike sense-stud will be one of the key features to be scrapped, along with Nike's unique fly-wire technology. For many though, this will result in one of the most exciting Vapor's in years!

Scheduled to land in 2012 before the EC12 Championships, Ronaldo will unsurprisingly front the new line of Nike Vapor 8 football boots. Nike's speed silo has been under increasing pressure from the adizero series and could be ready to reassert its authority. Disappointingly for some, Nike aren't expected to fight pound-for-pound with adidas for the title of worlds lightest boot. Expect a lighter Vapor next year, but anything beneath the 200g mark may be a push too far, and something Nike aren't looking to achieve.

What excites many about the upcoming Nike Vapor VII is the idea of playing in a boot with the same specifications as the pros. Whereas the Superfly III has been subjected to endless pro-customisation, Nike are expected to publicly retail a boot that brings you closer than ever to the professionals choice!

As we've come to expect, Nike remain tight-lipped on any information surrounding the new Nike Vapor 8 football boots. If you needed anything else to get you excited for 2012, this is it! Share your thoughts on the upcoming Nike Vapor 8 with the Global Soccer Gear Society online, on Twitter and on Facebook

Duff is right. The FG version of these has 2 studs. Ronaldo is in his personal sole-plate.

LET ME CLEAR THINGS UP. The boots will cost around the same as the vapor 7 ($220ish but not completely sure). They're going to have an adizero-esque upper, a fiberglass sole plate and they'll be available in two versions. A soft ground which has a mixed stud configuration like ronaldos boots and a fg which will only have two studs at the back. The boot is also going to weigh 180 grams. if you want proof, look vapor VIII up on google and you'll come across a website that has a lot of boot leaks ;)
