UPDATE 23/08 - Tom Huddlestone once again surprised us with his boot selection, and kept the football forums buzzing. After debuting the adiPower Predators last week, many were expecting the Tottenham midfielder to debut the adidas boots in the Premier League.
However, it seems Huddlestone was either not keen on the new Preds or got a bit of a telling off from Nike, as he was back in the Swoosh to face Manchester United. Interestingly, Huddlestone wasn't wearing the CTR's he has previously worn, instead he was in a blacked-out pair of Nike T90 Laser III football boots, which quite simply featured a coloured Swoosh and Huddlestone's personalisation.
19/8 - A player who has worn Nike his entire career surprised us all this week, as Tom Huddlestone played his first competitive game for Tottenham Hotspur this season wearing adidas adiPower Predator football boots!
Over the past two seasons big Tommy Hudds has mostly worn Nike CTR's, but before then and right back to the early days of 2003 Huddlestone has worn the Nike Total 90 range. So it was a big shock to see the powerful midfielder play in the Europa League wearing the biggest rival to the Nike T90's...javascript:mctmp(0);the adidas Predator.
Whether this is an official move or not, we've yet to have confirmation from either adidas or Nike, but perhaps Huddlestone has been attracted by the power and accuracy technology incorporated with lightweight design. One thing's for sure, our SoccerBible Boot Spotters will be pitchside at Old Trafford on Monday to eagerly see if Huddlestone gives his Predator's a Premier League debut.
